Today, I've inadvertently worked on my Morris Traveller whilst wearing my Austin hat. Will bad things happen or am I covered by BMC immunity?

Not entirely sure the Moggie's woodworm will show much respect for that Austin badge!!

I'm pretty sure you're covered. It might be worth a quick check with the Monopolies and Mergers Commission, just to be sure.

I might suggest adding a splash of Rentokill to the water next time you wash the Moggie . . . ?

. . . but on second thoughts . . . !

Just a bit of fettling for the season Sam, clutch adjustment, shiny new grille panel. and a bit of Lanoguard. A40 next - new engine I think. Always had low oil pressure, but rattling its mains off when you start it up now. Shame as it ticks over and runs so sweetly.

Have you found an engine for the A40?

Not yet Sam, but do have a couple of leads to follow up.

I had an old MkI Cortina auto years back, it was up on bricks and I paid £10 for it. The bearings rattled away when you went around corners, all it needed was time for the oil to catch up and sweet as a nut to drive. Used it for 3 years until the body rotted away, cheapest car I ever owned. Once the oil gets to do it's work they go for ages the old ones. Todays motors stop instantly if they get a bit of dust in a sensor.
