I've had this for many years and have no idea what it was used for .Please post if you know or have any idea .Approx 8" length 1" Dia ,no central hole in the removable adaptors mostly brass construction Tia

Clearly for filling and vacating something, the challenge is to find what it goes in and looks like a little release valve button at the end.

What looks like a button on the end cap is just a screw that holds the end cap on to the unit to seal it off and I presume it is just removed when using the thing for whatever its intended purpose.

Answer to 2nd question.
No Trevor ,I just have an interest in Victorian/Edwardian engineering and any unusual or interesting items that many would think of as junk and I collect as and when they turn up.Luckily I have support in a friend who is an avid collector of the unusual/interesting or as both our wives call it "that rubbish in the shed/garage".
