Perhaps we should start a 'and my other classic is' series - I have an A40 Mk1 and a Panther Kallista 2.8i - just a bit different!

behind the whitley under the blue tarpauline was a 1930 austin 7
this has now gone to a better home behind that is a small outhouse that at one time housed
a lathe and mill for reboring/remetaling austin 7 engines.
i like to learn how to do things

Reboring/remetaling......that's what was done at one of the companies I worked at :- Coventry Boring & Metaling. I did the crank grinding, 1983-1999.....( still am doing, at Farndons now ). Did allsorts, Austins, Morris', Wolseleys, Rileys, Rolls Royces, Bentleys, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera..... Some of those early Rolls & Bentley 6 cylinder cranks were like a bit of "bent wire"....hollow from end to end. Put 'em on the straightener and could push/bend 'em eigth of an inch ! Lovely bit 'o kit though....EN40B nitrided.....chuffin 'ard ! ! !
The metaling was fascinating too, running the old white metal out, tinning the bearing halves, recasting them and boring them out in pairs to suit the size i'd grind the crank to. EG, i'd gring a pin to 1.999", and the bearing would be bored to 2.0". Great times, loved it.
