Our preferred venue, Thirsk Garden Centre and coffee shop has closed its coffee shop for hot food and sit ins on Sundays in September due to staff shortages, they are still doing takeaway drinks and a very limited selection of cakes, so sadly no meeting there this month.

Instead some A40 owners are attending Goathland, North Yorkshire (Aidensfield in TV series Heartbeat) tomorrow, 12th September where a gathering of classic cars is raising funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance service, sited on the old railway over the road from Scripps Garage.

A separate Heartbeat rally featuring vehicles which appeared in the series will be displayed on the grass outside the Post Office and Gina and David are due to appear to sign calendars.

I am told four A40 were there today.

Goathland gathering . There was a good turn out of classic cars at the Goathland gathering. Nice to meet up with the North Yorkshire crew. Agnes made me very welcome along with Paul , Chris , Ken and every one else I spoke to. Was a great day untill the heavens opened and the rain came down. It might have dampened the cars and our clothes but didn't dampen our spirit's. Nice to meet up with you all. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Kind regards Andy

The BMW bike is a older version of mine that's why it's included. Mines 34yrs old so nearly a classic. Thought I'd include it as a fan of 2wheels as well as our 4wheeled friends lol.
