spring meeting

Dear All,
Once again, Theresa Wells has come galloping to our rescue, pointing out that the original date for our meet clashes with Mothering Sunday: not a problem in itself, perhaps, except that it’s already rather late to hope to book somewhere for food that day!
So, with apologies for the change, the following Sunday, 29th March, seems a much safer bet. I’ve been doing some research and have just sent an email enquiry to a promising pub about 1½ miles south-west of Taunton:
The Winchester Arms, Church Road, TRULL, Taunton, TA3 7LG.
The Taunton area seems pretty central for many of us. There is food served Sunday lunchtimes, but only until 2pm (it seems they have a quiz night on Sunday evenings, so do food again later). I have asked if we can book for 1pm, and when they need to know by.
Apart from being featured recently on the local news (because it holds an annual Sloe Gin championship each January), it also has a skittle alley. Maybe if the weather continues so atrocious, we might enjoy a friendly bit of indoor competition!
Please, Stoney, could you put this amendment on to the SW Face Book page and please, everybody, could you confirm very soon whether you will or won’t be joining us on the day.
Kind regards to all, and hope to see you on 29th –
Barbara O.
