Looking for a mechanic in the West Midlands

Hi all,

I've reached the last few jobs on my A40 before it can go back on the road, but they're things I'm not able to do myself. Chiefly, wiring and the brakes, as well as a couple of odd jobs. I have the parts and just need someone to fit them.

I've had a lot of trouble finding someone local who is willing to do the work ("a lot" is really understating it), so if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know! My A40 can't drive currently, so it has to be someone who can either collect it from Wolverhampton, or who can work on it while it's on my mum's driveway.

Hey Maya,

I haven't got any personal recommendations as I haven't had much need for a mechanic however I am part of a few groups and see this gentleman recommended alot so may be of use to you especially as he is mobile:

Yes, good luck, Maya. A good working relationship with your mechanic will guarantee peace of mind and a reliable car. Hopefully if Dave the Rave can organise another Coventry meeting this year, we'll all meet up once again.

Hey Maya,

I see that Valentina has been collected by the mobile mechanic, do let me know how you get on. It's always handy to know a good mechanic to help out when things get a bit beyond our capabilities! 😁

He posted a pic up of Valentina on the trailer looking wonderful 👍🏻

Yes, she finally went to the doctor this afternoon! When she was driven the short distance up the road to be loaded onto the truck, I was so happy I cried. It's been nearly a year that she had been sitting in our garden because I'd had such huge trouble finding a mechanic.

Ash the mechanic is expecting to be done within a week, which would be perfect as my driving test is just over a week away on the 18th! So fingers crossed! :D

All fingers crossed for you Maya! I'm so glad you found a mechanic and can get her ready for when you pass!

Yay! SO PLEASED that "Valentina" is now getting the attention she deserves.

The A40 is a relatively simple beast and one which a competent mechanic will easily sort - and hopefully not need to spend much time (or your money!) on.

And the very best of luck with your driving test - just stay cool and concentrate. The misery will soon be over!
