Hi all, Last year i bought a two owner A40 Farina and was told the guy that purchased it new in 1966 was a member of the club until he sadly passed away in 2019. His daughter kept his membership open until last year. I have been told that she gave his second A40 to the lakeland motor museum in the lake district and did a write up in this magazine, however i can`t find it. I am trying to determine the actual mileage of the car as it too was on display in the same museum and is believed to have done approx 7000 mile since new. I believe the speedo broke and one with 67000 miles was fitted. The guys name is Ronald Calvert and his daughter I only have her first name is Lucy. Any help with finding anything to do with the car would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Roy Baines.

Hi Roy,

Are you a club member, there was a good write up on this car along with KEC from the owners widow a year years ago in a FN magazine.

Hi it was featured on pg2 of FN164, March 2021 and an article on pg 42 regarding the donation of spares.

I've attached a copy from the archive area within the site.

Thanks everyone for your help. I am trying different ways to find out, including speaking to Chris Ennis, the lakeland museum and the garage that carried out the Mot`s. Hopefully i will be able to come up with something. Thanks again
Roy.

Reading the club magazine Roy, Ron brought KEC in 1963 and DEC your car In 1975 to use for spares but then decided to do it up.

Thanks for that Sam, but that wouldn`t explain the car only having done such low miles between every mot? Do you have a link to it please? Thanks for your help.

Hello again Sam, i didn`t explain that bit fully. In 2011 it had 4994 miles on the clock, in 2012 it had 66104. I can`t see anyone doing 60000 miles in one year hence why i am being told it has had a replacement clock. All very confusing.

A replacement Speedo would sound like it could be the cause. I think his wife is still alive, she maybe able to advise. I think they sold the car in 2017.
