Covid-19 strikes us

Just had a very sobering e-mail from a Club member who's a G.P. up in Glasgow. He and his surgeon navigator were the two chaps whom we met in Banbury as they drove south in the Monte Carlo challenge last year (members, see FN 160, pp26-29). In the middle of March one of the G.P's partners in their practice retired and 24 friends enjoyed a celebratory meal.

They all contracted Covid-19. He and another person became very ill but mercifully are recovering. The others had symptoms in varying degree but none too bad. He's now back at work, seeing patients via video link.

When you join the national applause this evening, do please think especially of them.

Will do also, my daughter is a GP so well aware of the situation they are in - although luckily her practice is untouched I am pleased to say.

You must be worried sick. Let's hope the girl gets through this unscathed.

Just found time to log on...I know it’s been a while!
Glad they have recovered...sobering indeed!
Stay well everyone and happy polishing!
