Spares from Derek

Post by Davejanes » 14 Jun 2025 16:42

Hi all just wanted to say a big thank you to Derek and all the club for all the support to keep the spares flowing.
Have purchased many bits and pieces through the club for my A40 that is now very close to being back on the road. After 40+ years languishing in varoius garages and lock ups.
Just waiting for the log book as I lost the original so I can tax it or at least go through the motions to get her legal.
All the best to all. Dave.

If it's more than 40 years old, you won't need to pay anything to tax it, so long as the log book shows it's registered as an "Historic Vehicle". I found getting DVLA to change the registration class from PLG to Historic Vehicle was a bit bureaucratic - you can't do it online, it has to be done with a paper form at a Post Office that handles vehicle registration stuff. Even then I had to chase DVLA to get the new log book from them.
