Today's date is a palindrome - it reads the same way forwards and backwards, thus 02/02/2020 and we'll have to wait one thousand and ten years to see 03/03/3030 so make a note in your diaries!!

Phew... close call. Your mention of "the scene of the imminent accident" reminded me of an old aircraft engineer friend of mine who worked on a number of makes during the war. You're right, Mike. But in the heat of the moment - and no doubt tired after a long day out (with more miles to come), plus missing the pumps completely, - I guess that bit of good 'housekeeping' went out of my mind.
