I mention this to help younger readers today understand the sarcastic comment with which I was faced sometime in the late 1960s when I badly misjudged my approach s...

No ordinary household slates these, each one was five feet by four feet and four inches thick. They were delivered by a fleet of articulated lorr...

Re: Various

... and doesn't it just show how the humble A40 is still a very great part of the racing scene these days.

Re: Font

Certainly will, but really sorry to miss you both (and of course Tina the Farina!) and I hope you do find time to send FN an article once the rally is over. The very best of luck to you!

Re: Various

I had the pleasure of meeting Chris and nav. John Varney at the Banbury stage of the rally: here's some memories of that bitterly cold day, Thursday 31st January 2019 (see FN 156, pp 18-19 for full report). Banbury stage.jpg Chris and John.jpg engine room.jpg means business!.jpg first road kill, nea...

Re: Font

Hi Chris, I'm reasonably sure there isn't an actual font one can purchase and I've been through my comprehensive listings of commercially available fonts but can't find a close match. Depending on what words you need to create, perhaps a designer could draw them up from a photo of the "Austin" and "...
