Re: Getting Registered with the DVLA

Well, I received a thick envelope from the DVLA today……..hurrah, I was wrong, I thought! They returned all my documents to me with a covering letter saying, ‘ I have to reject your first registration application because you have not enclosed your original non-UK registration certificate or export ce...

Re: Getting Registered with the DVLA

Well, it’s been around 6 weeks since I sent off all the paperwork to the DVLA new registrations - so I thought I’d give them a call. I was unable to get to a post office on the day I sent it off, so sent it first class via a post box in the village……..first schoolboy error, I think. Well, you’ve gue...

Re: Getting Registered with the DVLA

Well, I tried phoning the DVLA (Kits and Rebuilds) a week ago and no answer, so sent an email arguing my case for a video walk around. Having heard nothing, I phoned again today and got through to the vehicle casework unit. They acknowledged that it was a good idea, however, stated that the acceptan...

Re: Getting Registered with the DVLA

Yep, Stoney certainly is a great support. I haven’t quite given up hope, yet! I might try and give the DVLA a call. The number plates are so clearly as old as the car, and with Stoney’s stamp and signature on the pictures, I would have thought there is a chance I can still convince them…. It took a ...

Re: Getting Registered with the DVLA

Well, somewhat predictably, the Vehicle Casework Unit replied with ‘computer says ‘no’……..cough’. I must say, it only took a few weeks to reject it….. It is a little amusing that they will supply a different age related number, just not the one that has been associated with the car for the last 63 y...

Getting Registered with the DVLA

Well, my Mark 1 is (hopefully) structurally sound, moving and stopping which got me thinking about getting it back on the road in the not too distant future. It’s been in a shed for the best part of 40+ years, so never did get onto the computerised DVLA database, and obviously had no paperwork when ...

Well, I reckon I didn't quite realise how much practice I would be getting, but I think I'm improving!

All thanks to Derek, of course - goodness knows, it would be imposssible without him
