Been wanting to create this for a while, so I did one on my first run out.
I began working here a few years after this picture, in which you can clearly see the A40 of my first mentor and bodyshop foreman Arno Praeger perched on the end by the park. Last evening I perched UMH in about the same spot. Cue the Beatles 'In my Life' - There are places I remember, in my life, though some have changed. Some forever, not for better, some have gone, and some remain.....

What a wonderful post and picture Chris. So sad that it is all gone now. It looked a lovely garage too.. did they sell cars too? What was the name of them? I'm guessing a BMC/BL agent?

Yes Sam, Lookers of Northwich, a BMC /BL Distributor, one of the largest in Cheshire. You can see the showroom in the centre, with the workshop on the left. out of shot to the left is more workshop space, and beyond Parts dept, Forecourt fuel and a used car showroom. The bodyshop was on a different site about half a mile away. That too is flats now. See below photos for more detail.austina40sam wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 19:09What a wonderful post and picture Chris.
