welcome to the forum..there can't be many A40's in Sweden?
thanks sid, there are still 42 Mk1 and 71 Mk2 in the official register here but not known how many that are actually road worthy and used. I haven't seen one on the road in the last 50 years.

Hej, välkommen! (That's all the Swedish I know, sorry :D )
The forum is much bigger when you're a club member. The section for advice on repairs is excellent and is well worth the membership cost on its own!
Most of us club members are from the UK, so there's something I'm curious about. History tells us that the A40 Farina was sold in Sweden as the A40 Futura, supposedly because there was a brand of sugar in Sweden named Farina. If you have any insight on that, I'd be fascinated to hear!
Tack Maya. Great to hear about the forum, I'm looking forward to being a part of it.
You are right, mine is a Futura2 8-) ...not a Farina Mk2  , for now I don't know more then what's on wikipedia

I'd no idea about that fact with the A40 and Sweden Maya. Your knowledge on the A40s history and such facts is absolutely amazing to me! So great to see. To our new club member from Sweden. A very warm welcome!

I run the A40 Farina Register and am fascinated by your statement

' there are still 42 Mk1 and 71 Mk2 in the official register here but not known how many that are actually road worthy and used. I haven't seen one on the road in the last 50 years.'

Which register is this and are any more details available?

Welcome to the club by the way.

It is information from the official register, but every fact is not 100% accurate for old cars. Available through a commercial website; car.info
Here is the link for A40 Mk2 - https://www.car.info/sv-se/austin/a40/mk-ii-421557
And https://www.car.info/sv-se/austin/a40/mk-i-421555 - the link for 2 different hp variants (not correct!) 33+10= 43 cars for A40 Mk1. The numbers differs between 39 and 43 for Mk1 depending on where you find them.

And thanks for getting through the gate to the members section 8-)

Thanks Bengt, perhaps you would post a good picture showing your licence plate and post it on the A40 Farina Register page.
