1797 cartwheel tuppence. Rule back then was that coins had to have been minted from the face value of its alloy. Ergo that coin is tuppence worth of copper. Weighs 2oz. Shopkeepers used to use them as weights. 10 in line measured 12" Minted for about three years, ( alongside a penny which was a bit smaller ). Circulated 'til 1860 when the Victorian bronze coinage took over.
