Fuel Tank for Mk1

Post by Parkpd » 16 Jan 2022 17:04

Hello All

I’m new to the club, so forgive me if I’m doing this all wrong, but I’m looking for a fuel tank for a Mk1. Mine is very pitted, the seams are swollen and has been sitting for over 40 years. I did toy with the idea of using a tank repair kit, but looking inside, I wonder how that would turn out with the baffles and filter, etc. That and it cost £60, so would give it a go if I can’t find a good quality replacement.
I live in West Dorset, UK
Cheers!

It's feasible to use MG Midget tanks ....
If in doubt....kick the Ruskies OUT ❗

As Dave states Midget tanks are a good alternative and only require simple mods .You can also try Derek(spares) to see if he has a tank in stock.
Where in West Dorset are you ?,I'm a few miles south of Shaftesbury.

That's brilliant Chairman Ed - thank you!
I'm a full time doctor, but I might be able to coerce my son into coming up to Basingstoke for me (I think he's back home from uni that week)
Shall I PM you when I've got hold of him?
Peter
