And so it transpired! Sunny weather, easy parking, plenty to see and do - what's not to like? I'll upload some photos tomorrow - too weary this evening - and must give a huge vote of thanks to the lovely Izzie for organising it. We had three A40s, one LandRover and two moderns. Seems we should have had another A40 but it didn't make it - no doubt Agnes can fill us in on what happened.

So very nice to be sitting with wonderful company out in the open air. Did my black soul good !

Thanks Izzie and everyone who came, it was a great day out. Chatting away with friends not seen in such a long time, makes you appreciate these special days much more than before. Weather smiling for us, Mervyn said had rained Saturday but Sunday was good, right up until 5pm when heavens opened and brief rain stotted off car!! Too late to take the shine off the gathering

Paul's car had a wishbone problem, found when checking out something else. Parts very quickly (as always amazing service) supplied by Derek and Paul hoping to have repairs done for North Yorkshire group picnic in the paddock, which was to have been Sunday 22nd but due to forecast rain and thunder has been put back to Bank Holiday Sunday 29th

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the picnic. Thanks Chris and Dale for hosting us.

Yes, it was lovely to see our northern friends (and everyone else of course) but such a shame Messrs Tinkler couldn't be with us.

And belated apologies for almost running you and Martin over, Agnes! I overshot that narrow field entrance, had to wait for several cars to pass me before attempting a quick reverse and - accidentally floored the accellerator, meaning poor Gab shot backwards at an alarming speed.

We'd been driving for a couple of hours and, as always happens with the poor circuation in my right leg, the ruddy thing goes to sleep and the foot feels like I'm driving in oversized wellies; not good for delicate control...

A number of us overshot the field entrance, not very wide and only the one sign beyond the gate! Not very good with tail end Charlie's on your bumper too close for braking sharply (in an A40) and a narrow road, however accidents averted and a good gathering again
