1963 Fern Green Countryman for Spares or repair

Post by Derek Minter » 16 Apr 2025 08:27

Jon writes: My 1963 Countryman is Fern Green / Snowberry White A40 Farina 69,567 miles, purchase by my Aunt in 1980 and bought by me in late 1985. The white roof is still original paint, as is much of the green, other than the obvious sections that you can see in the wrong green (or rusty!) It had a fibreglass OSF wing fitted around 1982 and I fitted a NSF fibreglass wing in 1986 (but I clearly didn’t finish the job). I ran it for two years (including a slight incident with a verge where I damaged the front end and NSR wing) until January 1988 when I put it in a lock up garage in Leamington Spa, where it’s been for 37 years and counting. I used to start it a couple of times a year for many years, until the SU fuel pump eventually stuck. The clutch and brake hydraulics are no longer working – I guess they’ve gummed-up/corroded.

I have quite a number of parts/additional spares:

newly made NSR wing
spare bonnet
spare NS & OS doors with glass fitted
spare front grill
its original valance (not attached to car)
original front bumper
spare front & rear bumpers
its original wheels,
its original chrome (stainless?) side strips
spare windscreen
some tan interior trim – rear and front seats & door panels.
Original BMC Workshop Manual

The car is at Leamington Spa

Please contact me in the first instance and I will put you in touch with the owner. The asking price, complete with the spares is £750.
