1963 A40 Saloon Project

Post by Midlife » 20 Aug 2025 10:57

I am posting this on behalf on an ex-A40 club member. The car is located in Exeter in Devon and she would now like £350 ONO:

Dear A40 group,

I am emailing to ask if you could inform your A40 group of this car for sale for spares or repairs.
Betsy is an old lady , made in 1963 , and unfortunately we have not had the time/ resources as a family to keep her on the road .
She has been in our family for 25 years .
Last driven in 2016/2017 . Now is a non starter, brakes have seized and tyres have perished, has been stored outside on a driveway .
There are areas that would need rebuilding and welding or there are parts that would keep another A40 on the road .
I have service history from the time I have had it .
Originally from Pikes of Exeter .it has had 4 former owners, 5 including myself .
Mileage is estimated at around 92,000 miles on original engine ( previous speedometer not working and changed to a new one) .
This car will need lifting onto a trailer ideally.
I would be looking forward around £400 ono. I will enclose some photos .
Hoping an enthusiast would be interested.
I look forward to hearing from you .
Kind Regards
Sarah Ingham
