Returning to the fold

Post by Calum » 18 Dec 2024 11:10

Hi all

Good to see some familiar names still floating around the club... I will be rejoining the club shortly as I aim to get my A40 back on the road next year (you can remind me of that next christmas when it's still not done!) It's been sitting in the garage under my mother's house for an embarrassingly long time now! I still own nothing but classics, and the fleet continues to grow (oops). Now self employed with my own modest machine shop but still working mainly on classic automotive and steam. Hopefully getting the A40 here to the workshop will mean I can start to make some good progress.

Cheers,
Calum

Calum, rule of thumb for any estimate of time is to double it, and for cost to quadruple it! I'm at a point now where I hope that if I snuff it Annette doesn't sell any of the stuff for what I told her I paid for it!! Best of luck matey.

Let me know when you’ve rejoined Calum. And your membership number. I’ll then give you access to the club side.
If in doubt....kick the Ruskies OUT ❗

Thanks. I'll be doing all the work myself and any parts will no doubt be bought from the club... it's been in the garage since 2012 or so so it'll want the brakes going over and a general recommissioning but I am aware of a few bits of welding I need to do also. I did it on limited budget and skills as a teenager so there's probably some other bits to revisit as well. I see you're not far from me - I'm near Hebden Bridge but the car is still in Rossendale currently.

Thanks Dave, will do. I'm away for a few days over Christmas now so I'll get the form printed out and sent off when I'm back at home.
