Wessex Group meeting this Sunday

Post by Keith Bennett » 08 Apr 2022 20:28

Well chaps, it looks like I'm screwed 'cos Extinction Rebellion has prevented fuel deliveries in my area and I'm SO disappointed. I shall check the local garages on Sunday morning just in case but it's a 180-mile round trip and I don't fancy pushing Gab home!

Hooray, found fuel - it's E10 so I expect Gab'll go like a little red rocket!

Very good meeting although we were all so sad to learn that Terry's very ill with Leukemia and his poor wife has aggressive lung cancer; dreadful news.

Six A40s turned up and Bar & I computed that ours returned 47.4 mpg for the cruise down the A34 and back; 180 miles and quite a tiring day out but well worth it.

Missed seeing several of the usual gang but so nice to meet two new members. (Quite what they made of us it was hard to decide!)

Next meeting - all things considered - will be at Chilworth on Sunday 9th October, 2-5pm. See you there!

ps: just processed the photos - here they are...

New member Peter Bowen turned up with a slight misfire when going over bumpy roads. We asked him what else had happened. "Oh," he casually replied, "just a bit of smoke from the ignition wiring"!

Great to see you you both Keith. I'm so sorry I was unable to say goodbye to you both in person. I did wait around for ten minutes but I had to get home ready for work
I'm so glad you got home okay. Ruby got back home just fine and run faultless. A great meeting and well worth it. I'm very upset to hear about Terry and his wife. I will phone him over the next few days to thank him and have a chat. Clutch on Ruby being replaced on Wednesday.
