So good to meet some members face-to-face after the Covid lockdown; so much better than e-mails or phone calls.

I thought I'd try for a photo of Gab down at the seaside (the helicopter museum's carpark didn't have the same photogenic quality) but I'd reckoned without a sunny weekend and bumper to bumper traffic jams.

Somehow I managed to turn her sidelights on as I leaped out in a hurry for the shot - and in consequence Gab's battery was pretty flat when it came time to leave.

Finally, after being threatened with a good thrashing with the starting handle (a bit like John Cleese in Fawlty Towers) Mike and I managed to fire the old trout up and from then on she didn't miss a beat during the 106 mile journey home.

Thanks for the photos Mike.

Thank goodness for starting handles ! John Kilby had to resort to the same tactic to get his A40 started on the day of the AGM

The helicopter museum was suggested by Steve Stone and was a superb venue and the staff there made all efforts to ensure we were looked after including a guided tour of the museum.
