The engine suffered a failure of the cam belt drive idler shaft and the belt skipped a number of teeth with the expected engine results. I still maintain in all the years I have been involved with A series engines, I have never had a problem with the duplex chain cam drive system, it just works.

Are the valves interference with the pistons then ? I didn’t think they were.
If in doubt....kick the Ruskies OUT

Are you still running an A series engine as I am confused regarding the cam belt and idler shaft?scotty wrote: ↑29 Aug 2024 14:23The engine suffered a failure of the cam belt drive idler shaft and the belt skipped a number of teeth with the expected engine results. These valves interfered with the pistons quite a bit, or should I say the pistons did not do the valves a great deal of good.Dave the rave wrote: ↑29 Aug 2024 17:23Are the valves interference with the pistons then ? I didn’t think they were.
