why the stickers in the side windows of my newly acquired car state 'A40 farina owners club 1958-1967? my A40 is an April 1968 car! by the way..everyone who has come to have a look at Mildred loves her..except my daughter,a BMW driver! grandson Max is a fan though

Yours is one of those late cars, Sid, which was built in 1967 (the final year of A40 manufacture) but for some reason wasn't registered until the following year.

Mine was built in October 1958 but not registered until January '59. Up until then, she was a demonstrator at an Austin main dealership.

There was even some G reg cars Sid. They were registered after Aug 1st '68. As Keith says, last cars were built in '67, ( November ).

I had a 68, G reg, years ago I guessed it had sat in one of those BL flooded fields until someone bought it, I'd never owned a car with rust so high in the body. I couldn't keep up with it and scrapped it.

Last Saloon was/is 172,897....Nov 20th.
Last C/man was/is 172,360....Nov 14th.
I believe your car was built in the penultimate week of production Matt.

I'd say it was built on the last day.....
VERY likely the youngest car in the club.
I believe the penultimate car was known a few years ago. Ex committee member had it. Was for sale, don't know what happened to it. Poor condition though.
