Oh har har! I guess the original designers of the shell never thought that a ruddy great hole would be cut in the roof. Not that one would make much difference: the original concept of the vehicle was a simple shell powered by the existing flat-four engine (which itself began life as an aircraft engine). The driver was never going to be in danger from heat exhaustion in winter!
