Making more A40 Farina Club Noise in 2026

There was good discussion at the last AGM about creating more Club presence and being more ‘on the front foot’. Observations included the lack of a two-day AGM weekender as standard plus wistful comments that often there were no A40 Farinas at classic shows – or just a lone participant.

From the AGM came some actions which have been developed, ready to launch now at the start of the 2026 season. This includes an AGM weekender, new materials to advertise the Club at shows and a calendar of events that one or more committee members have committed to attend so there will definitely be a Club presence to join forces with.

Of course, the events calendar(see page 19 of FN184 - I can't reproduce it satisfactorily online) is only a fraction of available shows over the UK in 2026. We encourage you to head to any event that takes your fancy – ideally in a group, but even if you’re attending alone, you can ask for materials to give your car(s) a greater ‘voice’. Ultimately, the Club ‘presence’, and ‘noise’ can only be amplified if we all take that step forward and join in wherever convenient for you. Let’s do it – let’s make this the best year for A40 Farina visibility and presence in a good few years!

What have we got to help you out?

A5 Leaflets: Members said something to hand out to visitors who stop to talk and show interest in joining the Club would be a benefit. So we’ve created a double-sided A5 leaflet which was debuted positively at the NEC late last year.

Club Banners: Feedback said some Club advertising was much needed. So a PVC banner has been designed (dimensions 220cm x 80cm) with metal eyelets and stake holding pockets either end so it can be supported by string or wooden stakes. (We provide the banner, you provide the string and / or stakes and mallet)

These items are available to any one attending a show who’d like them. Just email Derek or Martyn a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the event you’re attending and we’ll get a banner and / or leaflets in the post to you. Excess leaflets can be kept for future use, but the banners are needed back after your event as they are expensive and we will use them in circulation around the Club.

Event Bookings: of course car show bookings often vary. Some are ‘turn up on the day’. Others need online booking (sometimes) well in advance. If you’re looking to go to an event with others, please check event websites or social media for the booking details. Many times, cars can only park together if they’ve booked a Club space or all arrive at the same time – so best to be in the know upfront to save being scattered all over the show grounds! If looking to attend one of the events on the Club events calendar, do get in touch with the lead Committee member attending. They will have full details.
